A renowned travel photographer, Abir Mahmud, has seamlessly woven his life into the waves of travel, capturing diverse genres of photography along the way. Starting with landscapes and natural phenomena, he has ventured into commercial photography, earning accolades as one of Bangladesh’s best travel photographers.
Abir’s journey began as a street photographer, refining his unique style. His featured photographs gained recognition, leading to honors in the Travel category at the Siena International Photo Awards. His documentary work delves into darker and moodier themes, exploring societal relationships through his lens with a blend of beauty and rawness.
With over 50 National and International Awards for his documentary work, including recognition in prestigious competitions like Photos Fever Drugs Never and Thousand Stories Season -2, Abir’s talent has been widely acknowledged. He has been a Top Finalist in UNESCO’s Youth Eyes on Silk Roads, a Finalist in HIPA, and ranked in the top 9 in the 35 Awards International Photo Competition.
Abir’s achievements have been featured in renowned newspapers and publications such as CGTN, National Geographic India, The Daily Star, and more. His winning streak includes two-time victories in the Aradhanay Chitropot National Photo competition, winning the Sylhet Agricultural University Photographic Society-SAUPS Photo Exhibition, and securing 3rd Prize in the Lensculture Photography Award.
